Pediatric Services

At Sri Eye Care, our treatments are not just limited to adults. Our pediatric ophthalmologists diagnose, treat, and manage all kinds of eye problems that affect your child. We offer comprehensive eye examinations for children to rule out any possibility of a refractive error in the power of the eyes.

If you notice symptoms of squinting, eye strain, and headache in your kids, it’s important to tackle them at a very young age as chances of permanent visual disability is high if these are left untreated. Amblyopia is another condition that can affect children, in which the vision in one eye is weaker than the other.

We extend our services to uveitis, which is a form of eye inflammation. It is important to diagnose and treat this to prevent complications. The symptoms of uveitis range from blurred vision, redness, and headache to abnormal sensitivity to light. From medications to surgical procedures such as vitrectomy, we provide various treatment options for this condition. Since uveitis has a high chance of recurrence, it is essential to consult your doctor at the first sign of symptoms.

Keratoconus, a disorder that affects teenagers and young adults, is characterized by progressive thinning and forward protrusion of the cornea. If left unchecked, keratoconus can lead to permanent loss of vision due to scarring. Although there’s no treatment to completely reverse the thinning and protrusion, a novel procedure known as Corneal Collagen Crosslinking or C3R uses the help of a riboflavin dye and UV radiation to halt the progression of the disease. Once C3R is performed, good vision can be achieved with the help of special contact lenses. Patients with keratoconus are also advised against LASIK surgery.
